Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th October
FAMILY CRAFTS with Karen Helling
Castleton Hall downstairs will be open for 2 full days for people of all ages to join in many different crafts, tied in with the knitted trail theme of Nature in the Cairngorms, also autumn wreaths, driftwood sculptures and much more. All materials are provided, and the talented Karen will be on hand to help if needed. No need to book and entry is free, although donations towards the rent of the hall would be appreciated. Bring the whole family!

Friday 21st October
Allison McGillivray Making a Santa Gonk,
Fabric Supplied. Bring basic sewing equipment (fabric scissors, needle and pins, black and red sewing thread if possible). A sewing machine if you have one but there will be one you can borrow. Bring a large measuring jug.

DRAMA
Carole Williams, the National Drama Advisor for Scottish Community Drama Association leads you in 2 days of great drama activities. The focus will be much more on making a ‘piece’ over the weekend rather than skill-based learning. She is thinking about starting with people creating a soundtrack for their life choosing a song for each decade.

You can attend all 4 or choose any 2 or 3. £15 per session or £50 for all 4.
Alison Bell and Rachel Marsh will take you through a creative journey on this four-day writing class. Using the theme of ‘loss’ as a guide, Alison will lead the group on the first two days to discover how to follow the spark of an idea and get those words on the page. Then Rachel will facilitate the last two days of the week, helping those in attendance sculpt their work through structural and character development. This course is open to writers of all levels from beginners to those who have published. Come with an idea to mind, or open to explore.

Students should create a complete oil painting

If you think you might like to be a piper this is the way to start.

Never too early for Christmas.
You can choose to dress up a bottle or make a couple of small decorations. Equipment needed- sewing machine, basic sewing materials, Christmas fabrics. There are 3 sewing machines available for anyone who needs to borrow. Other requirements will be sent when class is booked.
SUNDAY 30th Floral Art 3 sessions in Castleton Hall downstairs
Autumn Flower wearables
Dried Flower hair bands, combs, brooches or buttonholes for keeping and wearing.
You will learn floristry techniques of flower drying, wiring and construction and leave with Autumn dried flower jewellery and decorations.
We will use a mixture of dried blooms, wildflowers, thistles and cones and berries along with textured natural ribbons and twines.
Morning class: 10am – 12.30 (or whatever fits with your timetable)
Class number: 10 max, age 10+ (kids with adult) £20 includes all materials.
Flower mobiles
Dried Flower mobiles - delicate and ethereal Summer and Autumn colour and movement!
We will create floral hanging decorations with wire and stems and pretty dried flower miniature posies to hang in your home for some pretty flower power all year round!
Afternoon class: 2pm-4.30.
